Holden Manz Wine Estate, Company
the holden manz wine estate, owned by gerard holden and migo manz, is located at the top of the franschhoek valley dominated by the spectacular mountains which stand guard over the beauty below. situated between the franschhoek and stony brook rivers, this 22 hectare wine estate benefits from wonderfully fertile and dark loam soils and a state of the art wine making cellar under the supervision of winemaker schalk opperman (see more on schalk below!).
our guiding principal is to ‘tread lightly’ and the whole team works hard to minimise our carbon footprint, utilisation of chemicals, use of borehole water and impact on the environment.
all our red wines benefit from at least 12 months in tanks and french oak barrels. our premium ‘big G’ gets an additional 6 months in barrels to give it that something extra.
